Almost every single day I get to unbox computers, image them using a golden image, enroll the device in Intune, and provision the device in our environment. Then I procure a list of software to install from the Manager and or user. After that I install the software using Company Portal and normal installers. Configure all kinds of settings and apps like Outlook, Adobe, Chrome, the VPN, taskbar, default apps, and often much more. Then I have the user test the PC and fix any issues that arise whether they be a simple configuration, or an Active Directory problem, mapping missing network drives, and so much more,. Then I deliver the PC to the end user and nothing ever goes wrong after that. (In my dreams)

Deliver Hardware

Whether it is shipped or hand delivered all hardware deliveries start with a humble task in Service Now. Then I go over the task to try and figure out what is actually needed, sometimes end user’s don’t know their hardware isn’t broken. Then I procure the equipment from our stocks and send it on it’s way or schedule a hand-off or delivery. Sometimes hardware also needs software so I get that squared away as well.

Fix Computer Problems

Fortunately for my employ-ability computers break, when they do people often want to cry, then they call me, or someone like me. At NDIT I fix all kinds of problems. Corrupted Outlook profiles because they are 40gbs large, as of time of writing in Mar 2025 that a large profile. VPN misconfiguration, or flat out incomparable versions. Drivers that just stop working and need to be installed or a different version, or a newer version. An end user who cracks their screen by holding it wrong. A user that calls a folder a file and so much more. If it can break it will, and I’m often fixing things

Provide Conference Room Support

Conference rooms are the envy of young people everywhere, and that means I’m super fortunate to be able to support them. They have PTZ cameras, mics, audio equipment, projectors, speakers, and operation and training of all the equipment and their control devices. They also break which is fortunate for me because if they worked all the time I wouldn’t know anything about them

People

Finally, the people, saving the best for last. It’s so cliché but it’s soo true. The people you work with can really make or break your experience there. I have to say, My coworkers and management are some of the finest people North Dakota has to offer, and if I was asked to recommend them to another job I would have to say yes, simply because of the way they are. This especially applies to my boss, whether he reads this or not, he is a fantastic boss! I love NDIT EUCC we are the BEST TEAM!
